Manolis Sigoulakis is a Greek racing driver who competes in the Formula One career.
Formula 1[]
1988[]
In 1988, he originally signed with the Larrousse team, alongside British driver Jimmy Laad, but after the team ran into financial troubles, Laad and Sigoulakis both signed for the Arrows team. Sigoulakis took a career first victory at Hockenheim in 1988, and the rest of the season was good, with the Arrows driver managing to take 2 pole positions and 2 more podiums, in his way for fourth in the championship.
1991[]
In 1991, Both Sigoulakis and Laad had to change to Jordan, as Arrows pulled out. The season was bad for Sigoulakis, resulting in 6 points and one third place, in Spa.
1992[]
1992 went better for the Greek driver, who stayed at Jordan, with rookie Milos Ancevski alongside him, and took two wins, in France and Great Britain. He took points in most races in the second half and finished a strong 5th.
1993[]
Next team for Sigoulakis was Ligier, with Xen Foro as a teammate. The first half was bad, but recovery came and two third places with it.
1994[]
A second place at Imola was the only podium in a generally bad season, which resulted in a 13th place at the championship.
1995[]
Leaving Ligier and moving to Sauber, it went to a well start for Sigoulakis, with a 9th place in Brazil and a 5th place at the next race. He achieved a podium finish at Germany. He scored 6 points and 18th in the Drivers' Championship.
1996[]
The 1996 year was a struggle for Sigoulakis. Retiring from the first two races with a gearbox problem and a water leak respectively, he left the team and was replaced by Canadian Steven Poirier
2000[]
In 2000, Sigoulakis announced that he would return to F1, and he replaced James McNamara after the fifth round of the season, and finishing 9th on his return.
