Seasons

1988

McLaren hired English driver Ben Herbert to drive for the team. In the first race, Prost finished 4th and Herbert finished 7th. After Herbert was unable to score points frrom the first round until in Canada, he scored his first points and podium in USA. After Round 11, Prost was replaced by Argentinian driver Mane Goddard, and Goddard finished 4th on his first race.

1991

After Goddard left McLaren to drive for Minardi, 1988 champion Aidan Keranen joined the team, but he decided not to pick the champion number, which was later given to Herbert. The season ended very special as Herbert achieved his first World Champion for the team which Keranen joined.

1992

McLaren retained both Herbert and Keranen. The season went well as Keranen, but the team could not repeat their success from previous year. Keranen finished 9th and Herbert finished 10th in the Drivers' Championship, and the team finished 8th in the Constructors' Championship.

1993

McLaren retained both the drivers as from the previous season. The season went disappointing for the team, as the team failed to score any podium. Keranen ended in 20th in the Drivers' Championship with only one single point and Herbert ended in 13th with 9 points. The team finished in the same position as from last year.

1994

McLaren retained both the drivers as from 1992. Ben Herbert took a pole position from the first race.

1995

McLaren again retained their drivers for the 1995 season. It was a miserable season, with only Aidan Keranen scoring 2 points in the Japanese Grand Prix. McLaren ended last in the Constructors' Championship with Keranen 20th and Herbert 23th in the Drivers' Championship.

1996

For the 1996 season, McLaren replaced both drivers by signing 1993 champion Lesley Buurlage and Xen Foro. The season went to be much well, as the team scored 4 podiums, 30 points and a 4th place in the championship.
