Sauber is a team that competes in the RaceDepartment Simulated Career for Formula One.

Seasons[]

1993[]

The team debuted in South Africa, with both drivers retiring from the race. In the next race Néron scored his first points for the team, and their last points finish was at the Hungarian Grand Prix scored by Diaconescu.

1994[]

After both of the drivers left the team, Jordan drivers Ancevski and Rautavaara joined the team. They faced a tough season, with only Rautavaara scoring points, finishing last in the constructors' championship.

1995[]

Ancevski and Rautavaara had to leave the team due to the poor results, they were replaced by Lotus driver Omer Said and Ligier driver Manolis Sigoulakis. They slightly improved, scoring two podiums and finishing in 9th in the standings.

1996[]

Said left the team for a sabbatical, and they signed rookie Josh Noack to replace him. After 7 races Sigoulakis surprised the paddock by announcing his immediate retirement. Steven Poirier returned after 2 and a half years without racing to fill the seat. Thanks to strong performances by Noack the team could finish 7th in the constructors, their best result so far.

1997[]

For 1997 the team again changed their line-up, bringing in James McNamara and Rui Martins. Both impressed, taking a win each and helping the team to finish 3rd in the Constructors' Championship with two wins and 7 podiums in total.

1998[]

No line-up changes for once, and McNamara knew to impress once again. Martins however struggled to adapt to the new regulations, which left Sauber unable to defend their 3rd place, still finishing in a strong 5th.

1999[]

Both drivers renewed their contracts, for what turned out to be a tough season. Only four points finishes saw the team dropping back to dead last in the constructors' standings.
